Specialty cars can be a pain to take care of, making it crucial that you can diagnose problems on your own if you want to save on garage bills. This is especially true for cars like BMWs that have unique manufacturer codes that require a specific kind of scanner.

Compact and portable, this small-screened tool allows you to scan, diagnose, and clear errors in your BMW or MINI-brand vehicle’s engine. It will work on most BMW/MINI cars & trucks made between 2000-2014, including the BMW 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, X, and Z series. It can also tell you information about your car or truck, including the model number, VIN, and more.
The device plugs into the ODBII port on your car through a 16-pin connector cable. This powers the device, allowing you to access the home screen before choosing your model and performing the desired diagnostic scan. As you scan and repair the problems, the display’s live data stream also constantly updates the current status for easier diagnosis without needing to rescan.

This scanner is rather basic in function and priced at a perfect entry-level price range. As it only works for BMW and MINI-brand models, its primary use is just for owners of one or both of these two brands. If you do have a check engine light on, you can clear that after diagnosing that it isn’t a problem, so you don’t have to worry about something going wrong. This model also has live data streaming to the display, allowing you to troubleshoot in real time.
It can be updated through the provided micro USB so that it’ll last your car’s lifetime and offer even better value for the money.
The c110 lacks support for scanning and clearing the SRS and ABS systems of your BMW/MINI, and sadly doesn’t work on other OBDII-compliant cars, making it simply a specialty tool.

Conclusion
This scanner is pretty basic in both design and function. It is small enough to easily fit in your hand and be used one-handed thanks to its simple user interface. In terms of functionality, the c110 simply allows you to retrieve information about the vehicle or scan and clear engine problems and CELs. It cannot check other systems in your car nor can it work on non-BMW/MINI models, but it also doesn’t break the bank.
Consider the Creator c110 a solid introduction into DIY car maintenance on your BMW/MINI, but if you’re looking for a more comprehensive diagnosis or support for more brands, it may not be for you.
I am getting this message and unable to detect any codes and my engine light is on in 2015 , “Please Send the Data to customer service.” Problem is I don’t have my purchase receipt so basically no help ! Any advice appreciated thank you
