Review of: Creator C110

Product Type: handheld unit

Reviewed by: Alex Meyer

Quality of Build

Screen is a bit small and the design is basic, but it reliably does what it’s supposed to.

Value For Money

It’s a basic model with limited functions, but it’s priced accordingly.

Ease of Use

Large, easy to read text and a simple control scheme makes it very beginner friendly. Slightly small screen.

What We Like

  • Cheap entry-level scanner
  • Connects to your PC or tablet for updates
  • Scans and clears CELs in real time with live data stream

What We Don't Like

  • Only works for BMW & MINI cars and trucks
  • Doesn’t support ABS or SRS scans/clears

Specialty cars can be a pain to take care of, making it crucial that you can diagnose problems on your own if you want to save on garage bills. This is especially true for cars like BMWs that have unique manufacturer codes that require a specific kind of scanner.

If you’re a novice DIYer or beginner to the self-repair scene, the Creator c110 may just be the entry level scanner for your BMW or MINI.

This scanner is pretty basic in both design and function. It is small enough to easily fit in your hand and be used one-handed thanks to its simple user interface. In terms of functionality, the c110 simply allows you to retrieve information about the vehicle or scan and clear engine problems and CELs. It cannot check other systems in your car nor can it work on non-BMW/MINI models, but it also doesn’t break the bank.

Consider the Creator c110 a solid introduction into DIY car maintenance on your BMW/MINI, but if you’re looking for a more comprehensive diagnosis or support for more brands, it may not be for you.
